ABOUT ME
I love a challenge
I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.S in Environmental Science and Resource Economics in 2016. After graduation, I accumulated over three years of professional work experience with Power Home Remodeling as a Direct Marketer and Salesman. During my tenure, I received multiple promotions with progressively increasing performance expectations and supervisory responsibilities. After two years with Power, I was responsible for managing an entire department of 20+ Salespeople.
Now, I moved from Connecticut to San Diego at the end of February of 2020 --blissfully unaware of the mayhem quickly approaching! During the subsequent quarantine period, I passed the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam, received an Advanced Google Analytics Certification, completed AWS training, learned multiple programming languages (Python, Java, R, Javascript, SQL, HTML, CSS), and completed masters level Data Science/Business Analytics coursework from top Universities. Most recently, I earned an official MicroMasters in Business Analytics from my coursework with Columbia University Professors. And, I am mid-way through a second MicroMasters in Data Science and Statistics from my coursework with MIT professors.
TIMING IS EVERYTHING.
I made the decision to move to San Diego, CA at the end of 2019. My girlfriend and I officially moved into our appartment on March 6, 2020. Within two weeks we were in a total lockdown from the Coronavirus... So, as the job market tighted, I decided to aggressively pursue new skills that could be learned from home.
Analytical work was always a strength of mine so it was an easy choice for me to venture into business analytics and data science. The skillset seemed to require a deep understanding of Computer Science, Programming, Statistics and Calculus. So, those were the areas I started in.
Over time, as my skills developed, I began to push into increasingly complicated topics. Some of the assignments and projects I completed during my coursework include: Neural Networks with backpropogation, Convolutional Neural Networks, CNN with Pytorch and Tensorflow, Principal Component Analysis (Netflix Challenge winning Algorithm), Maximum Liklihood Estimations, Sentiment Analysis (Natrual Language Processing), Web Scraping, SEO strategies, Recurrent Neural Networks, and many, many more.
Links below can be used to navigate to some of my personal side-projects. These projects were selected to demonstrate particular skills or algorithms that are both practical and efficient. All of the projects were written by myself, in a variety of programming languages. These are just a few of the projects I have completed, for clarity, I have chosen not to include any coding projects that were direct assignments from my coursework.
